Robbie added 22cm to his PB in 2005 and 5cm to his PB in 2008, jumping 2.27m in Bedford. In 2010 at the McCains Challenge Final he cleared 2.28m to set a life-time best. 2012 was one success after another culminating in a magnificent Olympic bronze medal after earlier securing the European title in Helsinki. He equalled Steve Smith's outdoor UK best with a leap of 2.37m and also took the prestigious Diamond League title.

He also has played hockey at county level. He is a classic car fanatic.

He has previously taken part in Aviva Sportshall.
