Road Personal Bests from the good old days -London Marathon 2.51.24 -1987 ,Lytham St Annes Half Marathon 74.56 -1992 ,Ferriby 10 Miles 55.45 -1990 ,Leeds Abbey Dash 10kms 33.56 -1989,Armthorpe 5 miles 26.22 -1988 ,Bolton 40 Miles -5.17.45 -1986 Track - 800 metres 2.19.7 -1990 , 1500 metres 4.42.4 -1996 , 3000 metres 9.38-1988, 5,000 metres16.14-1988 10,000 metres 34.06 -1988 , 10 miles 56.59 -1988 I have competed 161 Spencer's Dash races out of a possible 192 between 1989 and 2025½ -3.7 miles road race in Barnsley ,36 out of 40 Ward Green 6 ,20 Barnsley Six (6.35 miles ) road races in a row 1978-1997 out of poss 25 , 27 Wombwell 5 miles 1978 - 2023 I had the great honour of being an Olympic Torchbearer in Lundwood ,Barnsley on June 25th 2012 Also after running the Windermere Marathon in May 2012 managed to achieve the feat of running under 3.30 marathon for the distance in 5 different decades and win my first ever prize in a marathon 2nd Over 55 vet !!!! ----- Over 69000 logged miles run in training or competition since Jan 1st 1979 - -Finished my 42nd and last Marathon at Manchester 10th April 2016 in 3.43.08 -First half marathon was in 1978 (Holmfirth 15 miles ) Last was 2019 at Worksop but I did do some virtual half marathons in 2020 , 2021 and 2022 - finished over 100 events at either Half Marathon or 15 miles -Run around 200 races at 10kms on the road or 10,000 metres on the track - -Now finished well over 2100 events over all terrains ranging from 100 metres up to 40 miles but 10kms is about as far as I go nowadays aged 68 - much slower but still getting out there 2 or 3 times a week -Loving parkruns --- 2025 - My 50th running year and 49th year competing - Gone back to be a member of Barnsley AC where it all began for me back in the day - but still second claim Rotherham Running Club
